We had such a festive week! On Tuesday, we celebrated Carnival, and on Thursday, World Book Day.
Our Carnival celebration included first included storytelling with Valentina, to understand the context and why behind this celebration. We headed down to the Preschool for a parade, and then it was time for a dance party in the Bubble!

We celebrated World Book Day with a big reading lounge in the Bubble. The children were proud to show off the special books that they brought in, and excited to discover new books, too! What a peaceful and joyful way to celebrate our love of books.
We’ve continued the ongoing transportation and houses project, expanding the scope to research cities and towns. We first brainstorm what we will see in towns, and sort those lists into categories of people, places and things. We zoomed in, in small groups, to explore each of these categories. We then zoomed out again, using the observational, and sometimes fantastical drawings to create a city mural. To be continued…
Grazie, to Leonardo’s papa for being our first guest reader! We loved listening to the story, Tutti i colori della vita. We
We look forward to hearing more favorite stories 🙂 If you haven’t already signed up, please do!
Having parents come in to share favorite stories can be a source of pride, gives value to family experiences, strengthens our bonds between home and school, exposes us to new languages, broadens horizons and is a delightful way to start our days. These are only some reasons on why this practice has become such a cherished tradition at l’écoline!
